Place and dates of workshop: Best Western Hotel – Islamabad; 14 th June 2016 till 16 th June 2016
Purpose:
1. To build confidence and skills of the ActionAid project management team and partner staff to meet EU donor contract terms and conditions when implementing the project
2. To set up the grant management processes and systems so that the project is run efficiently and effectively within ActionAid systems
3. To strategize implementation activities of the project in accordance to agreed timelines (Result Based Strategies)
Learning outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify and asses the critical terms and conditions in the donor contract
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements including: correct procurement of goods and services, providing supporting documents, meeting the financial requirements and identify the requirements for closing the grant
- Describe the project financial management processes and tools and how they fit with existing systems
- Manage the donor relationship with greater confidence
- Appreciate that finance and programme staff must work closely for successful grant management
- Identify the main roles and responsibilities assigned to different staff members and risk management and accountability processes
